The bidders pooh-poohed it in bankruptcy, when they could've had it cheaply, only to jostle to pay top dollar now.

Maybe when you go into the phone business these days, you have to check your brains at the door. You have to marvel at the brazen stupidity of these executives. Now, after pooh-poohing MCI and its business, denying there's anything worth buying other than in bankruptcy, the majors are about to have a bidding war for the darned thing.
